Clancy Martin is associate professor and chair of philosophy at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, USA. A translator of Nietzsche and Kierkegaard, his work has appeared in Ethics, Harper's, London Review of Books, The New York Times, Philosophy and Literature, and many other publications. He is the author of several books in philosophy, most recently The Philosophy of Deception (Oxford University Press, 2009), and a novel How to Sell (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2009).
