John Rieder is Emeritus Professor of English at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, USA. He is author of Colonialism and the Emergence of Science Fiction (2007), Science Fiction and the Mass Cultural Genre System (2017), Speculative Epistemologies (2021), and many other publications. He received the Science Fiction Research Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019.
