Lauren E. Shoemaker is Associate Professor of English at Slippery Rock University, USA. She is the Co-director for the Gender Studies Program and advises the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance student organization. Lauren earned her PhD from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2017 with her dissertation on Caribbean women’s literature, and her work has been published in the Journal of West Indian Literature and Meridians: Feminism, Race, Transnationalism. She has published book chapters on the Birds Aren’t Real conspiracy theory and the Apple TV series Severance in edited collections. She co-owns Werner Books and Coffee with her husband Kyle in Erie, PA.
