Catherine Kovesi is Associate Professor in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies at the University of Melbourne and is author of Sumptuary Law in Italy 1200-1500 (2001) and editor of Luxury and the Ethics of Greed in Early Modern Italy (2018).
