Kathryn Welch is Honorary Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. She has written numerous articles on Roman republican and early imperial history and historiography. She is the editor of Appian's Roman History (2015), co-editor of Julius Caesar as Artful Reporter and Sextus Pompeius (with Anton Powell, 1998 and 2002); Roman Crossings: Theory and Practice in the Roman Republic (with T.W. Hillard, 2005); The Alternative Augustan Age (with K. Morrell and J. Osgood, 2019). Currently, she is co-director of the Pompeii Cast Project.
