Amândio Reis is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, and the editor-in-chief of Compendium: Journal of Comparative Studies. He is the author of Short Stories, Knowledge and the Supernatural: Machado de Assis, Henry James, Guy de Maupassant (2022). His current research is situated at the intersection of narrative studies and comparative literature, focusing mostly on short fiction in Portugal and Brazil, from the fin-de-siècle to the modernist period.
